Catering Facilities
Each of our stations have catering facilities. Sheringham
station buffet, on platform 1, is open most days of the year,
even when no trains are running. It serves a selection of
hot and cold snacks, drinks, light refreshments, confectionery
and ice cream. There is a seating area inside and numerous
picnic tables outside, further up the platform.
Weybourne
and Holt both have
smaller buffets which are open most days trains are running,
subject to the availability of volunteers. Light snacks, hot
and cold drinks, confectionery and ice cream are available
at these stations. Limited seating is available outside.
In addition to our station buffets, we occasionally operate
our Gresley buffet car on some passengers trains during the
summer. As well as offering light snacks, hot and cold drinks
and confectionery, a range of alcoholic drinks are available
in this licensed vehicle.
During 2007 we aim to operate some dedicated dining trains.

Souvenir Shops
Our main souvenir shop is located on platform 1 at Sheringham
station. A range of books, DVDs, souvenirs, clothing and Thomas
the Tank Engine merchandise are available in this shop, which
is open most days during the year.
Smaller souvenir shops are located at Weybourne
and Holt, again
offering a selection of souvenirs of your visit.
Some items from our souvenir shops are available for purchase
online. Click here
for details.

Toilets & Baby Changing
Toilets are available for our visitors at Weybourne
and Holt stations
on days when trains are running. There is also a disabled
toilet with baby changing facilities at both of these stations.
Although we do not have any toilets at Sheringham,
council operated public toilets are immediately adjacent to
the station, including a disabled toilet.
Some of our trains also have toilets onboard but unfortunately
these are not suitable for disabled people.

Museum & Education
The
William Marriott Museum is located in the goods shed at
Holt station. The
museum is operated by the M&GN
Joint Railway Society and is open when trains are running
during the summer. For details visit the museum
website.
Some museum artifacts and small exhibitions are also available
around the railway. Currently there is a display on the history
of Sheringham station in the ladies' waiting room at Sheringham.
There is also a display in the museum signal box, situated
on platform 2 at Sheringham.
In platform 3 at Sheringham is our children's activity coach,
part of our education facilities. More information on Education
on the NNR is available here.

Disabled Facilities
Access to Trains
We
have two refurbished coaches in service for passengers confined
to a wheelchair.
One (see picture
on the right) is panelled in European Ash, has provision for
up to eight wheelchairs and has standard seating for four
accompanying friends. The picture windows give a fine view
of the surrounding countryside and sea. It also has uplighting
should your travel take place after dark.
The second
coach has the same facilities but with a smaller capacity, which runs on our second
train. This can accommodate up to four wheelchairs and has the same picture windows.
Although the majority
of our services include one of the coaches mentioned above,
the formation of the service trains do change and should you
be travelling with a group confined to wheelchairs, we would
recommend a phone call to 01263 820800 before the day of travel.
We can then try to arrange for the necessary accommodation
to be available for you.
Although
there are usually toilets on each of our trains, the width of the corridor does
not permit the passage of a wheelchair.
For passengers
with limited mobility we can accommodate wheelchairs in our
brake van whilst the passenger travels with their friends
in our standard coaches.
Guide dogs are
welcome, free of charge, on the North Norfolk Railway.
Sheringham
Station
At Sheringham there
is a Council 'Pay and Display' car park immediately adjacent
to the station, which has special parking spaces allocated
for those confined to a wheelchair. The car park has a tarmac
surface and a ramp leads from this car park to an entrance
gate which provides access to the platforms. In the event
that this gate is closed, which it sometimes is for special
events, there is level tarmac access to our main station building.
For dropping off purposes, there are double yellow lines outside
the station, from where there is easy level access to the
main station building. Once in the station there is level
access to the booking hall, the shop, the buffet and all three
platforms.
There
are no toilet facilities on this station although there is a council operated
facility about twenty yards away which has provision for the disabled. Again this
can be accessed via a level paved surface.
Weybourne
Station
At Weybourne there
is accommodation for about fifteen cars in the station car
park. The access is again on the level. The main platform
in use at Weybourne is paved and level access is available
to the booking hall, shop and buffet. The second platform
at Weybourne, which is used on the yellow and red timetables
and on special events,
has a mainly paved surface. Access to the car park and main
station building from this platform is via a wooden crossway
at the end of the platform. This involves the negotiation
of the slopes at the end of the platforms. However as this
involves crossing the line it is essential that a member of
station staff or the Guard escort you across safely.
There is a disabled
toilet at this station, accessible with a radar key.
Holt
Station
Here
there are two car parks. We recommend that passengers are dropped off at the platform
entrance, where there is level access to the platform and station buildings.
There is a disabled
toilet at this station.
