The North Norfolk Railway

The North Norfolk Railway offers a 10.5 mile round trip by steam train (vintage diesel trains on some journeys) through a delightful area of North Norfolk designated as being of outstanding natural beauty.

To the south are wooded hills and the Norfolk beauty spots of Kelling Heath and Sheringham Park. To the north, the sea. All within easy walking distance from the various stations.

The flowers are a sight to see throughout the year. In spring and early summer there are primroses, bluebells and the yellow gorse. More...

Sheringham Level Crossing was re-opened in Thursday 11th March, when Pete Waterman OBE welcomed Britannia class 70013 “Oliver Cromwell” bringing the first train over Station Road for 46 years. Reconnecting the North Norfolk Railway to the national rail network was only possible thanks to generous donations, including support from Norfolk County Council, North Norfolk District Council, Network Rail & National Express East Anglia.

Latest News - 31 August 2010

• There have been a number of statements in the Railway press re Sir Lamiel timing for the crossing to NNR 2 September. The Loco is not expected to come over the crossing until late Thursday evening/early Friday morning. It will not be coming over at 18:30 as published in some media.
