Wanted - Children to help run the Poppy Line!
Here's a rather special half term treat! The Poppy Line is offering children the chance to help run the railway and learn more about what goes on behind the scenes. Altogether Now is scheduled for Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday May 2nd and 3rd 2010.
Find out how a steam engine works, watch the signalman operate the signal box, wave the flags for the guard. What does a stationmaster do? Visit Professor Fanthorpe to learn about the science of steam, listen to railway stories, sing railway songs, make your own picnic and even visit the engine & carriage shed. But watch out for Morgan the Railway Cat!
During the May event, Morgan the Railway Cat will be joined by illustrator Colin Wyatt, who will be introducing people to Poppy the Engine,
It promises to be a uniquely different family weekend - and one that will give the kids (and Dads and Grandads) memories to treasure.
Fares
Standard 2010 fares apply for this event. Please be aware that in order to participate in all the activities, you must be in possession of a full line rover ticket.

Thomas Events
Statement from the Managing Director:
"The North Norfolk Railway has been unable to conclude an agreement with ‘HIT Entertainment Group’ for a licence to hold Thomas events for the foreseeable future.
We, together with a number of other steam railways in the same position, are disappointed with this, and the position that HIT entertainment has taken.
However we are pleased to announce that we will be holding alternative Family Weekends.
