Puffing Billy Weekend 5th - 7th May 2012 (Bank Holiday Weekend)
A fun weekend designed especially for families.
For our special action packed family weekend, we will have a special guest! Beamish Museum have kindly allowed us to hire Puffing Billy, a 2006 built replica of the 1814 locomotive built to haul coal trains from Wylam colliery to the sea port. The locomotive, along with sister engine Wylam Dilly, worked the colliery lines until 1862, when they were retired, the original locomotive still survives to this day, in the Science Museum. The example from Beamish can normally be seen alongside the Hetton Locomotive, Locomotion and The Steam Elephant, at the Pockerley Waggonway at Beamish.

Normal fares will be in operation for this weekend, offering great value at only £35 for a family ticket, although please be aware a platform ticket will be needed to access Sheringham station

Thomas Events
Statement from the Managing Director:
"The North Norfolk Railway has been unable to conclude an agreement with ‘HIT Entertainment Group’ for a licence to hold Thomas events for the foreseeable future.
We, together with a number of other steam railways in the same position, are disappointed with this, and the position that HIT entertainment has taken.
However we are pleased to announce that we will be holding alternative Family Weekends.
See the top of this page for details of this event which promises to be an exciting new experience."
