Steam Galas

We plan to hold two Steam Galas in 2012

Spring Steam Gala 9 - 11 March
Grand Steam Gala 31 August - 2 Spetember.

9th - 11th March Spring Steam Gala.

Our Spring Steam Gala will feature an intensive timetable with a few unusual formations in service, it will also be an opportunity to see guest engines working alongside our own home fleet.

Locomotives

Please note this list is subject to change due to availability

• LMS Black 5 - 45337, visiting from the East Lancs Railway

• GWR 49xx - 4936 Kinlet Hall this locomotive is currently operating on the mainline 

• BR 9F, 92203, Black Prince, on long term loan to the North Norfolk Railway

• Additional locomotives will be announced shortly

Rolling Stock

• Quad - Art set in operation

• MK1 stock, both in maroon and plum and custard livery

• A short goods train, featuring some newly refurbished vehicles

Look out for some unusual formations too!

Fares

Advance Fares are available until a week before the event, and can be purchased from our online shop

Please note that only rover tickets will be valid for this event. No half journey or single tickets will be available and no discounts or concessions will be available

Children under 5 travel free.

Dogs and cycles are charged at £1 each for unlimited travel on that day.

Lineside Photographic Passes

Lineside Passes are available for photographers throughout the year. Click here for details.

Please note that being on the lineside or any non-public place without a lineside pass is trespassing, which is a prosecutable offence on the railways. Checks are made that people on the lineside hold a valid pass.

31 August - 2 September Grand Steam Gala.

The NNR's late summer gala is the curtain raiser to similar events around the country. Showcasing a mix of visiting and home locomotives, it's as popular with visiting holidaymakers as it is with enthusiasts.
