IMPORTANT STEAM GALA ANNOUNCEMENT

53809 not to run at NNR Home Fleet Running Weekend.

As many will be aware, the 7F locomotive 53809 has been undergoing a major overhaul at Weybourne Works. The locomotive has been going through its testing stage over the past week in order for the loco to return to service for this weekend’s Home Fleet Gala. Unfortunately, a problem has been identified during this phase which will require further attention before it is released back into traffic.  We will be replacing the 7F directly with the M&GN Joint Railway Society’s War Department locomotive 90775. It is unfortunate that we will be unable to operate 53809 for this event, however we still have a great line-up of home fleet locos running an intensive passenger and goods timetable. Locos include: 92203, 1744, 564, 76084, 8572, 90775 and 20227 together with shunting locomotives assisting with the movement of out-of-service stock.

DATE AMENDMENT:

The Autumn Steam Gala will now be taking place between Friday 12th - Sunday 14th October.
