Group bookings, for twelve people or more travelling together, can only be taken by phone or in person, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Where do I catch the train?

Where does the train go?
The train travels to Weybourne Station, where everyone alights to visit Santa’s Grotto plus the enchanting Christmas Tree Kingdom. At Weybourne, everyone will receive a festive treat and a drink as well.
How long is the experience?
The whole experience lasts approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. This includes the train journey to and from Weybourne Station as well as the activities taking place at the station.
What is the Santa Special?
Our Santa Special is a traditional children’s event with a steam train journey to see Santa in his grotto. As part of the ticket, children will receive a flavoured milk drink and cookie plus a quality present from Santa. Adults do no miss out, as they will receive a mince pie and glass of mulled wine.
Is there more than one train a day?
Yes we have four departures in a day at 10:00, 12:05, 14:30 and 16:35. We recommend arriving at Sheringham Station 30 minutes before the departure time as this will give you plenty of time to get checked in and find your compartment.
Do we have allocated seats?
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, every booking will be seated in a compartment which will be isolated from the next.
I have a baby under 1 do I have to pay for that baby?
Any children aged 1 and under cost £10.00 and must be sat on an adults lap for safety.
Do I have to have a child with me to go travel on the Santa Special?
Yes there must be at least one paying child to enter. Please note if you turn up to the event without a child you will be refused entry.
What happens if my child is sick on the day?
If your child is sick on the day of travel, please contact us at the earliest possible opportunity.
Can I enter Santa’s Grotto without a ticket?
Unfortunately you will need a ticket to enter Santa’s Grotto at Weybourne Station.
Is the experience wheelchair accessible?
Yes it is accessible however due to the historic nature of our carriages we can only take one wheelchair on the train at a time. Please telephone our booking office on 01263 820800 to discuss your requirements.
Can I take the pushchair on the train?
Unfortunately we cannot take pushchairs on the Santa Special Train. However you are more than welcome to leave the pushchairs with our staff at Sheringham Station who will lock them away after the train has departed.
Can we take photos?
Yes you can take photos and/or videos at any time.
Can we bring our own food?
Your ticket includes a mince pie and glass of mulled wine for adults and a flavoured milk drink and cookie for children. Unfortunately you cannot consume your own food on our Santa Special Train, however our buffet at Sheringham will be open for refreshments and you can also pre-order Santa Selection Platters for your trip.
I’m interested in a Santa Selection Platter. Do you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes we have two options for platters; one meat and one vegetarian. We do our upmost to cater for all dietary requirements including gluten free.
I’m gluten free. Do you have gluten free mince pies/cookies?
Yes we have gluten free alternatives available, please make a note of dietary requirements on your booking.
Can I bring my dog?
Apologies but no dogs, other than assistance dogs, are allowed on our Santa Special Trains.
