What’s changing at the North Norfolk Railway from July 19th 2021?

With the summer season rolling in at full swing and the Government today easing virtually all remaining restrictions on the public, we are glad that the world is returning to some sort of normality. However we are equally aware that the Pandemic is not yet over, and the rate of infection is rising once again. Our priority throughout the Pandemic has always been to keep our visitors, volunteers and staff safe.

We have therefore concluded that from July 19th 2021, we will still not be allowing those without a valid travel ticket on to the platforms at any of our stations, We will still be encouraging visitors to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing on our busy station platforms as well as in our shops and buffets. As well as this, we strongly advise that customers wear a face covering when they are on board our trains. As we begin to run in to the school holidays, the Railway will only be getting busier and we wish to ensure the safety of everyone travelling with us.

We respect that not everybody may wish to wear a face covering while you are with us, though we do ask that if you choose not to do this, you also respect those who do continue to practice the wearing of face coverings and social distancing.

From July 26th, the Railway is re-introducing its normal range of Rover tickets alongside our Red Timetable for the year. Information on tickets and timetables can be found on our website under ‘Timetables and Fares’. On every steam hauled service, there will be a very limited number of private compartments for parties who wish to remain separate to other passengers. Tickets can be found at www.shop.nnrailway.co.uk

Also from July 26th, Kelling Heath Park Halt will reopen to general Railway services. 8 trains will call at Kelling Heath Park Halt every day, and if you wish to join any of these services, you must already have a valid travel ticket for the day. Trains towards Sheringham will call at Kelling Heath Park Halt at: 10:52, 12:32, 14:12, 15:47, 16:27 and 17:47 – and trains towards Holt will call at Kelling Heath Park Halt at: 15:59 and 17:14. The last two times listed for each direction will be operated using a Heritage Railcar service only.

We’d like to thank you for your continued patience, and we can’t wait to see you during the summer.
